Friday afternoon to night I went to first pres to help set up the yard sale scheduled for Saturday. I was there for a freakishly looong time! (3:45-7:00) I left before they were actually done setting up. So yesterday I showed up hecka early (7:30AM) which is just wrong for a Saturday, and was there until 2:00PM! I thought it was over at twelve, but obviously was mistaken. You meet some REALLY werid and scary people in downtown Yakima! Lets see, there was the guy straight from the 70s, the deathy pale woman wearing all black, a man with a nonworking leg and arm who wanted to be my best friend (creapy), the two homeless women with missing teeth who hovered over my table and tried to steal from the yard sale, the woman who wanted me to host a Cathie Lee party at my house, and the little girl who could've been a little boy except that she was wearing red and pink and had earings in her ears. During less busy spurts the other kids helping with the sale and I tried on some really scary looking clothes. (A blue and purle blazer, flowered hat for who knows what and a mumu.) That was fun! At 2:00 Greg (the guy in charge) let the Trailseeker families in to take what we hadn't sold for free. (These are poor families from Yakima. He works with their kids.) I got to see Enrique, Lupe and Yolanda who I usually only see on Wednesdays at LOGOS! I also bought a 12 set of plastic cups, a movie, two ordaments and a campbells soup mug which are for when I live on my own.
This morning I was at church from 8:00AM until 1:30PM 'cause we had an extra practice for the Pops Concert during second service and after.
Now on to homework. I have a major group project due on Friday and a Plagues & Peoples book to read.
Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Spring Quarter
I start out at 7:30 AM with reniasance to napoleon history Mr. Walker's the teacher. Jenn's in this class too. Then I have math 85 (beginning algebra) with Mr. Mayo at 8:30. When I told my mom she told me that he's my second cousin twice removed by married or something like that. How crazy is that? Mom also said that he'll know me on site 'cause he knows my parents. I just chose him 'cause he's the best (so I've heard) math teacher. I have general psycology at 9:30 with Mr. Mount and. . . Anna and Stover! Yea! I'm super excited! So I'm done with class by 10:20! That means time to go work out at West Valley Fitness after class and I'll get to go to intervarsity worship on Thursdays!

Girls Night In
Well for me it started at like three in the afternoon yesterday when I met Bonnie and Margarete at Borders. (I was there for my disease group meeting.) So we went to go see Phantom of the Opera which was actually pretty good much to my suprise. Then Bonnie and Margaret took me back to Borders to get my car and we met up at Bonnie's house where Anna, and Cherize were waiting for us. (Kim showed up right after I did.) Bonnie's awesome parents made dinner for us (enchiladas (sp)). And we finally played Settler of Catan when I was present! It's pretty fun. Need I say that Margaret won? And then Apples to Apples which is my favorite game. During Settlers Annie brought in her tape recorder with the tape we'd made for Margaret on it. So at random points in both the afore mentioned games she'd play the tape in response to what one of us had said. After Bonnie won Apples to Apples, we just sat around and asked the tape recorder random questions while either fast forwarding or rewinding the tape, and then see if what we played made sense in answer to the question we asked it. It was really funny! So if the tape's right, Annie will kill Steve by throwing me at him and Kim will find the body. (Sorry Steve, but it was Annie's idea.)
Today I get to look forward to much homework as I have two tests. ( One on Tuesday and one on Wednesday. ) Prayer for doing well on both of them would be much apprieciated since it's geography and biology respectively and they just happen to fall into the science catagory which I suck at.

Wedding Bells are going to Ring Four Times!
I have four, count 'em four cousins getting married this summer, Christmas and next spring! One in July, August, December and next April or May. I'm sooo excited! I really enjoy every cousin-in-law I'll have. My cousins are all Christians and God gave each of them awesome Christians to marry!
We went through a time when every year a cousin (or sister) graduated from high school and now it's onto at least one getting married once a year. I think it's funny how it clumps up like that. But I guess that only works when the ages aren't far apart.
In choir for our Pops Concert we're doning a Beattles lots of songs put together. (What's the name for that? Melsomething.) Anyway, one of the songs is Goin' to the Chapel and we're gonna get Married. Another is These Boots were made for Walkin' and It's My Party and I'll Cry if I want to. Those are all really fun songs!

10 Reasons Why Valentine's Day is Great
(I've read too many 10 reasons why I hate Valentine's Day posts.)
1. Candy
2. Get to see/hang out with friends
3. Don't have to worry about your guy (that you don't have) forgeting to get you something
4. I got two really good romance novels from my parents
5. It was sunny outside! I love sun!
six, seven, eight, nine and ten- God loves me and all you all no matter what
I feel better now! Anybody else?
Have a good rest of the week everyone!

KLove
This afternoon my dad and I took my car to Randall Park and then to Costco to get gas. We fed the ducks at the park. I know it's pretty corny to feed the ducks, but my dad wanted to and nobody else would go with him. It was actually kind of fun because there were no geese around. (Geese are scary because when we were little my dad would make them chase us and they'd try to bit us 'cause they wanted the bread we had in our hands. It was very traumatic.) Yeah.
Then on our way to Costco my dad rolled down the window to fiddle with the antanna(sp). He's strong so he made it go up a few more inches! (Mom & I had tried and we couldn't make it go up anymore.) So I tried KLove and it worked! I'm so happy! I was getting deprived.
Gotta go 'cause Julie needs to get on the internet. Talk to ya later.

Randomness
Yesterday Anna and I skipped our 8:30 class and went to Essencia Bakery and Starbucks and her work to give an oatmeal cookie to her co-worker Marty. It was my first time skipping a class. I'll probably never do it again because with my luck I'll miss the day that Mr. Blisard tells us something important like we're having a test on Monday or something.
Tomorrow I'm meeting my disease group (SARS) in the library which reminds me that I gotta print my info. off the computer today. The people in my group are pretty nice I suppose except the blonde girl is super ditzy! But at least she has the hair to match her approach to geo/bio. She asks the questions that she must not think about before asking.
Today at Apple Valley my mom had her problem boy run out of the room in the middle of class! I didn't see what happened, but he's done stuff like that before.
Julie just got home, so I gotta get off the internet.

Family Time
Yesterday afternoon at about 1:00PM Barbie got home. It was sooo great to see her! There's something about seeing her in person after her having been in Haiti for three and a half weeks. Anyway, we all had lunch together while she told us about the babies she'd grown to love. Then we went for a walk up the canal road onto the Indian Reservation. Julie made dinner and Laura & Cahnen came over to join us. (And Barbie's best friend.) After dinner we begged my dad to get out slides from when we were little, which he did. After being hassled by four daughters, who could say no? So for the next few hours we just sat and laughed at the funny pictures. It was great! We haven't done that in forever! (At least not with all eight of us there.) We also did a puzzle. (One of those billion piece ones, ya know? At least to me it seemed that way. Need I say we didn't finish it?)
This morning I went to church with Valerie and we sat with Laura and Cahnen with Uncle Stew sitting in front of us. It is sooo funny to listen to him comment on what's being said or done up front! He's really funny once he gets into it! (That sounds pretty redundant, but I'm not in the mood to change it.)
Oh, and we have a Haiti Team at church that's leaving Thursday. They go to Terre Blanche and run a medical "hospital" of sorts and a VBS. I sooo want to go someday! The only problem is they only go in November and February so it's always during school.
Now onto homework. Sad Days. But I have a test tomorrow and one on Wednesday. Plus the weekly seminar. Talk to ya all later.

My Pretty Boring Day
Okay, today it was sooo windy! Oh my gosh. If it hadn't been for the wind it would've been really nice. (Curses the wind) I went for a walk this morning despite the wind. The tumbleweeds were everywhere! It was crazy! There was also an extremely yappy dog who freaked out and went wild when I walked past his yard on the other side of the street.
I went to Old Navy this afternoon and got a really cute green purse. I also got two shirts one 3/4 and one T-sirt, and a $1 deck of cards with those nasty Valentine's Day hearts on the back. They were just random (and cheap), so I had to get them. What I really wanted was to get a sweatshirt but alas, the only ones they had were for boys and even the smalls are too big. Sad Days. (I'm geting extremely tired of people commenting on my WVHS sweatshirts.)
Hope everyone else had a good day.

SALT
Last night Annie, Keith, Andy and I went to SALT. It was A LOT of fun! The paster at CMA church is awesome! He spoke on faith and the different ways it can be unhealthy. I learned a lot. The werid thing is that when I got home I did a devotional that goes along with the sermon series at church that was about fortitude in faith. I think God was trying to tell me something. Andy drove us there and I'm just glad I got home alive. He drives a little to fast for my sanity. Plus he told us just as we were entering Yakima that he wasn't wearing his contacts. I didn't even know he had contacts and I'm glad I didn't until the very end of the drive.
I tried to post this at school, but the YVC computers in the lab are dumb! I sat there and waited for it to publish itself for longer than I should have to. I finally gave up and got off the internet. (Annie and I had to get to class.)
I'm not going to Spokanne this weekend. Barbie has to work Friday so she's just going to come over on Saturday and stay until Sunday afternoon. I think she's coming to please my mom more than anything 'cause mom needs to physically see with her own eyes that Barbie is safe and everything. Personally I don't blame my mom. But I get to see Barbie! It'll be great! I'm excited.
Jenn, if you see George around school in the near future tell him happy birthday for me as it's his birthday today.
Only one more day of school this week!
Talk to ya all later.

I got my hair cut
It's been a long time in coming. Like a year and a month and a few days. Gross, I know. The girl that cut my hair was really nice. Plus I saw David Wilder. I never see him at school. (He does running start.) Anyway he told me that he gets his hair cut when feels upset or something like that. I don't know about that. If I did that I'd be bald or close to it, but to each their own. (I went to Super Cuts and had to wait for half an hour so we talked.) She cut it too short, but don't they always? It's feathered, but it looks just the same as layered to me. Does anyone know the difference?
This Friday I might go to Spokane to see Barbie with my mom for the weekend. It'd be great 'cause we have NO SCHOOL Friday! How great is that? It means no test on Plauges and Peoples until Monday. (That book is sooo boring!)
Gotta go do some work for seminar. Joy.

Prayer Needed
Today between services at church we had a congregational meeting and so I didn't have to teach Sunday School so I went even though I'm not a member of Wes Pres and can't vote. We are spending more money than we're making. The only reason we're not going into debt is because we're pulling money from our reserve fund. That's bad because if we pull out of it for too long we won't have any money left in it and will go into debt. So any prayer would help.
Also my co-teacher for Sunday School's husband had a really bad heart attack yesterday. He's in the hospital and doing fine. Then I realized that he's only a few years older than my dad. So. . . you get where I'm headed, right? So prayer there would also be much apprieciated.
Now I should go do homework even though I really don't want to.

Happy Day!
It's happy for two reasons, at least.
One, Barbie flew safely into Spokane from Haiti last night! Yea for being in the United States! It's cool that she went to help and all, but now my mom will be able to sleep at night.
Two, it's my sister Julie's 27th birthday today! She's not really excited, but I think it's always a fun day because. . . well maybe it's more fun when you have friends that you can see on that day.
Yesterday in biology we made a new strand of e. coli! Plus it was resistant to two different kind of antibiotics! It was really cool!
Oh yeah, I finally learned the cute boy's name. He's in my American Popular Culture class. His name is Jeremiah and he's Canadian. He just came here right before this quarter.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. Yea for sleeping in and puting off homework.
Oh and anyone who feels inclined can keep Annie in your thoughts as she'll be spending the weekend with junior highers. Need I say more?

I'm feeling random and mad
Okay, on the way home from school I was listening to country (I know I know, yuck to most people, but KLove doesn't come in on my car radio.Sniff sniff) Anyway, I was singin' along havin' a good time behind this old man goin' 25 max until I got part of the way down Ahtanum which is when my radio dies slowly as I get closer to home. So I turned it off and was just listening to my car. It sounds like a race car. No kidding. It has so much get up and go. I was telling it that we could go up big hills, maybe even a mountains! Yeah, random, I know.
When I got home I was telling Julie all about my day which was pretty fun. Annie and I made a happy birthday to Steve/hi to Andy & Matt phone call at Annie's house and then went to Starbucks. Did you know they have a new small size? It is sooo cute! Yeah. And then we went back to school, saying hi to Julius (a dog) on the way to bio/geo. In that class we made Steve a birthday card with a dragon. Well at least that's what is was suppost to be. We missed Margarete. In biology we did fun stuff with e.coli. We put it on plates with antibiotics on them and we're going to see what happens over the week. I enjoy labs. Plus my group is fun. I was way hyper as I told Julie all of this, so after I ate I went for a walk and said hi to the llamas and horses. It was fun. Like i said, random.
This is the mad part. Later as I was watching Dr. Phil, (no snide comments please) Laura came over to our house and got a call on her cell. Now I love my sister, but she talks on the phone LOUDLY and I just wanted to watch TV in quiet. So I turned up the TV and after she finishes her call she comes over and turns off the TV to give me a lecture. Yeah a lecture like I was a little kid and she was my mommy. She informed me that I'm not the center of the universe. Yeah. If I was the center of the universe you'd know. I'd make changes. The reason I'm mad is because she has NO right to do any of the above. She knows that she shouts while on the phone so the polite thing would be to go to a different room right? Oh no. That's WAY to hard. I needed to vent and Julie wouldn't be sympathetic because doesn't have any older sisters. Plus she thinks I was wrong. Heave big sigh. This is when I wish I were an only child.
I need to go study for a geography test and do some more work for seminar on Thursday.

Tomato Soup! and class
Okay I LOVE tomato soup! I know that's it's really random, but hey, it's me. For the past two months or so I'd say I've been eating A LOT of tomato soup. Just with saltine crackers no cheese sandwhich or anything else. I'm posting this because today on the way to our cars Anna and I were talking about it and she told me to post it. For a laugh of course.
And we got two tests back in geo/bio class which I didn't do so well on so any prayer on doing well in these classes would be much appreciated. Oh and we got put into groups to work on a disease for a presentation for the end of the quarter. Anna's not in my group. Sniff Sniff. My group is doing SARS. I think it'll be interesting. Anna's doing Lyme Disease and if you want to hear a funny story concerning that, maybe it'll be on her blog. If not, ask her to post it. It's something I would do. Anna you're becoming like me! A fate worse that death. Hahaha.
Happy Days all, Sally

My Car!
My parents and I drove to Tri-Cities this morning to pick up my newly painted car! It looks sooo pretty! A nice blue with a little bit of purple in it. (I wasn't expecting that.) I drove my dad's car back. It was the third time I've ever driven on the freeway. So all in all it wasn't to bad. I know that it's werid that I've only driven on the freeway three times but I didn't have a car at my disposal until this past June and that car DID NOT go on the freeway unless you wanted it to blow up with you inside. Plus my drivers ed teacher told me that I was a horrid driver and he'd pray that I never hurt myself or anyone else with my car. Which wasn't the greatest confidence builder in the world. It took me a LONG time to drive around town by myself and I hadn't really thought about the freeway.
I watched Harry Potter #1 and did a little homework, but I really need to do more because I have a test on Monday and I haven't read the 131 pages yet or studyed my notes. Oops. But geography and biology have more stuff due at a consistant rate so I've been doing that first.

My Thursday and Randomness
All this week Jenn's been giving me a ride to and from school because my car's in Tri-Cities geting painted until Saturday. So today we got to school at 8:00 and did homework for seminar in bio/geo class. It involved a lot of "helping" each other. I'm a bad girl, what can I say?
On Thursdays after school I go to Apple Valley and help my mom in her afternoon kindergarden class. This week they're studying sense of taste. I shrug my shoulders. Anyway I was in charge of that for the afternoon class. I had five five/six year old boys. They had to taste coffee, unsweetened lemenade, pepper, salt, sugar, flour, baking soda, baking chocolate, cocoa and I forget what else and tell me whether they tasted bitter, sweet, sour or had no taste. It was the funniest thing! One boy swore up and down that everything tasted sweet and wanted more. Another boy shouted out what he thought everything was when I set it in front of him which set the others off. It was great. I really enjoy helping my mom. I get all the fun without the work. What could be better?
At choir tonight we did regular get ready for Sunday's second servive singing, but also we're gearing up for our Pops Concert which we do every other year. It is sooo much fun! We have three different themes and songs to match. My favorites so far are Lullaby of Broadway which we did two years ago and And as the Rabbi Sang. Another song we're doing is He's Got the Whole World in His Hands. Did you know it has another verse about gambeling that you don't learn as a kid? It's majorly funny! (The Rabbi song and the concert in general.) It has some religous aspect, but mostly just fun stuff. I also has skits and random stuff like that. Anna you have to come! And bring your family. Daniel could too if he wants to. It's on April 21 &22 I believe so most of you all that read this can't come.
Now for the randomness. My sister Julie's car which is an 87 Toyota Corolla can still drive down the street without the key in the ignition. Isn't that cool?
And last week as I was driving my mom home from church while we were on 79th, she opened her door and hit a dog that trys to get out in front of your car at night and early in the morning to freak you out! It was sooo funny.
going to watch CSI, Sally

And last week as I was driving my mom home from church while we were on 79th, she opened her door and hit a dog that trys to get out in front of your car at night and early in the morning to freak you out! It was sooo funny.

Bible Verses I like
Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refraim,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
Ecclesiates 5:2-3
Do not be quick with your mouth,
do not be hasty with your heart,
do not utter anything before God.
God is in heaven
and you are on earth,
so let your words be few.
As a dream comes when there are many cares,
so the speech of a fool when there are too many words.
Psalm 46: 1-2a
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear."
Matthew 6:14-15
For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
2 Timothy 1:7
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.

Funny and Prayer
A third one of my friends got stuck in my driveway today! (or ditch) It was Jenn and she did better than Annie as she successfully flatened one of my mom's plants that looked dead anyway . . . But at least she wasn't all the way in the ditch. I think everyone in my family excluding mom, dad and Julie have gone into the ditch or come close to anyway. My cousin's done it multiple times. Some of Valerie and Barbie's friends have also gone in the ditch. Each time it's slightly amusing.
My sister Barbara is in Haiti for this whole month so can you keep her in your prayers? She's working in an orphanage for sick babies-HIV, malaria that knid of thing. It's very sad. She's been sick and not geting a lot of sleep.

Awesome poem and more
In my lonely keep-to-myself times,
Hear my sighs, Lord,
For I am tired of going unnoticed and unloved.
In my my fearful I've-been-hurt-before times,
Hear my anxiety, Lord,
For I'm scared to stick my neck out again.
In my grieving words-can't-express-the-hurt times,
Hear my tears, Lord,
For I don't know if I can face tomorrow.
In my angry leave-me-alone times,
Hear my grinding teeth, Lord.
For I'm so blasted mad I could scream!
In my worried knot-in-the-gut times,
Hear my wrinkled brow, Lord,
For I'm burdened today with yesterday and tomorrow.
In my hectic hit-and-run times,
Hear my pounding feet, Lord,
For I'm running late instead of running to you.
In my searching I-don't-understand times,
Hear my shrugging shoulders, Lord,
For I struggle with the whys and hows of life.
In my troubled I've-done-it-now times,
Hear my beating heart, Lord,
For I feel the weight of having failed-again.
In my anxious I-need-action-now times,
Hear my tension, Lord.
For I'm tired of smashing into doors.

So we all fit
You can change the world
Be proud
Fulfill yourself
unstoppable
I choose to be smart and capable
Your friend, therapist, advisor (God)
The power of being yourself
All the above Valerie put in a diary she got me for our birthday
I'm REALLY frusterated because this is the fourth time I've written this!
going to relax, Sally
